CHARTER plc Disposal of head office property

The Board of Charter plc announces that contracts have been exchanged for the sale of its leasehold head office property in Central London to the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Italy. The sales proceeds of £3.9 million are receivable in cash and a deposit of £390,000 has been received today with the balance due on completion on 31 October 2003. The proceeds will be used to reduce the group’s indebtedness. The profit on disposal amounts to approximately £0.6 million.
Charter plc will be relocating its head office into smaller premises in Central London.
