Successful placement of the Rights Issue rump

Following yesterday’s announcement regarding valid acceptances under the Rights Issue, Charter PLC now announces that Hoare Govett has procured subscribers for the 2,039,356 new Ordinary Shares for which valid acceptances were not received, at a price of 132.5 pence per share.
The net proceeds, after deduction of the Issue Price of 85 pence per share and the expenses of procuring subscribers (including any related value added tax), will be pro-rated to those persons whose rights have lapsed in accordance with the terms of the Rights Issue.
Accordingly, sub-underwriters will not be required to subscribe for any new Ordinary Shares.
